What are the test methods for the chemical composition of tile repair colorants?
Jul 05,2022
The chemical composition of different tile repair colorants is different, many customers do not understand how to distinguish when buying tile repair colorants. In fact, the chemical composition of tile repair colorants can be analyzed by various test methods. Here are a few test methods for tile repair color chemical composition, I hope it can help to home.
(1) Titration is one of the more commonly used methods for determining the chemical composition of tile refinishing colorants by wet chemical analysis. The principle of titrimetric analysis is that a titrant reagent reacts with a test component at a suitable pH value, and the content of the test substance is calculated by the amount of titrant reagent used to change color when the indicator reaches the end point of the reaction. In the determination of tile repair color components, alumina and magnesium oxide >5%, calcium oxide, iron oxide, calcium fluoride, high levels of titanium dioxide, and zirconium dioxide, zinc oxide, and boron trioxide commonly found in frit glazes.

(2) Atomic Absorption Spectrometry Atomic absorption spectrometry is the analytical principle, when the light source radiation of the characteristic spectrum of the element to be measured through the tile repair color steam, it will be absorbed by the steam of the element to be measured in the ground state of the atom, and then from the degree of attenuation of the emission spectra can be obtained from the samples in the content of the element to be measured. Due to the strong sensitivity of atomic absorption detection, it has obvious advantages in the determination of low content elements. Atomic absorption is one of the more accurate detection methods currently used, and its elemental detection limit can be as low as 0.0001%.
(3) X-ray fluorescence method for tile repair color chemical composition analysis principle is relatively simple, when using X-ray irradiation of the sample, the sample will be excited into fluorescent X-rays. The wavelength (or energy) of fluorescent X-rays excited by different elements is different, and the intensity of the rays is proportional to the elemental content. Mixed fluorescent X-rays are separated by wavelength (or energy), and the values and ray intensities of different wavelengths (or energies) are measured separately, which can be used for qualitative and quantitative analysis. There are two basic types of X-ray fluorescence spectrometers: wavelength dispersive and energy dispersive.
As a typical representative of dry chemical analysis method, more and more tile repair colorants are analyzed by X-ray fluorescence analysis method to determine the chemical composition of the material, mainly because the method is fast, accurate and easy to operate. The detection results of wavelength dispersion method are very stable. Regardless of the content of components, its accuracy meets the requirements of national standards, and the detection limit is as low as 0.001%. Energy dispersive method can analyze all elements at the same time, with the advantages of accuracy and speed, and the quantitative analysis is slightly lower than wavelength dispersive method. However, satisfactory results can also be obtained for materials within a specific range, and the detection limit for specific elements can reach 0.01%.
